Many days have passed since I last wrote here. My days have been busy with the final week of my Sociology class and I haven’t had time to do much besides work on my final paper. I submitted it last night about 30 minutes before the clock rang midnight. Yawn!
I have been so looking forward to having time to knit, and (shamed face here) put together the ubiquitous (creepy music in background) PURPLE SWEATER. It has been calling to me daily….and I’m beginning to feel a bit haunted! I suppose if I want to feel better about it, I’ll put it together and get it over with. Am I the only one who procrastinates on stuff I actually like to do and look forward to? Gee, I hope not…misery loves company.
I want to begin a new sweater and have been telling myself that I can’t do that until I finish the other one, but I’m dying to knit and I don’t have anything going right now….tonight I think I’m going to break down and give in to my cravings. I’ll work on the (you know what) during daylight when I can see better. I know, “Excuses, excuses!”
Time for knitting will have to be found in bits and spurts, I’m afraid. I checked the required reading for my new class and I can tell there won’t be time for much else for the next several weeks. It’s about aging and the aged, a topic I am intimately familiar with since I have been (and continue to be) aging and I usually feel quite aged! Unfortunately, the course materials haven’t taken my knowledge into account and I must learn what is on the assignment lists!
That said, I’d better go back to reading. I’ll leave you with this great picture of a painting by William Henry Margetson, a Victorian artist. His work is filled with wonderful renditions of women going about their daily lives. You can tell that he must have enjoyed being around women because his paintings are so soft and lovely. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.
Have a good week…I hope I’ll be back before the weekend. (but don’t hold your breath) :o(
