Today I was surprised to discover that my blog from WordPress is shown on this site. Now I really will have to watch out what I discuss here because I don’t want to duplicate anything. I want this to be a fun read for all, especially those who love all the ‘Stitches’ things. I love to sew, knit, crochet, and embroider silk flowers and even an occasional cross-stitch project.
Update: I have all the pieces of the infamous purple sweater ready for blocking. I just need the time and space to do it. And, then I can put it all together and we’ll see exactly what I’ve done. That’s always the moment of truth for me because I tend to do these things sort of by the seat of my pants. Much too busy to bother with the instructions except for a general idea of what I should be doing when I’m not following the directions. Note: I do NOT recommend this approach to any stitches project. I get away with it once in a while, but I also do a lot of corrections. There are days when I spend as much time un-knitting or ripping out seams as I do knitting or sewing on whatever project I am working on.
I’ve recently come across some photos of vintage styles and want to share with you

Of course those of you who are quilters know all about the vintage ‘baby’ Singers…they are getting scarce as hens’ teeth and when you do find one, you can expect it to be expensive. I think they have some smaller contemporary machines now. It’s about time the sewing machine manufacturers took note of how often we have to cart our machines to classes and group evenings, etc.! I don’t have a little machine yet…just my trusty old Bernina and an ultra-max Viking machine that has a computer I am learning how to use. It’s fun when I get it right, but I am intimidated by all the bells and whistles. I find myself using my Bernina just because I know what it does and what I need to do to get it to do what I want! Any suggestions for the monster computer machine would be appreciated.
My little dogs are ganging up on me to let me know that it’s time for their dinner. I can’t believe how they seem to know how to tell time! If I don’t want them both on my lap and between me and the keyboard I’d better go now!
